Industry's Highest Honor

3/23/2015

(Sioux Falls, SD) – Media One is proud to announce that M1 Politic – the firm’s political arm – has been awarded three coveted Pollie Awards from the AAPC, the industry’s highest honor bestowed upon political consultants at the national and international level.

M1 Politic earned the only Silver Pollie awarded in the category of “Direct Mail – Ballot Initiative Division – For Statewide Campaigns” for a state-wide direct mail piece created for the Yes on 17 Campaign/Patient Choice. The firm also earned one of two Silver Pollies awarded in the “Overall-Ballot Initiative Division – Best TV/Radio Campaign” for “Even Kids Understand.” This campaign included three television spots featuring children talking about their doctors, also for Yes on 17/Patient Choice.

A Gold Pollie was awarded to M1 Politic in the “Shoulda Woulda Coulda – Best Use of Internet” category. This is a video created for Jeff Barth for Congress in 2012. This category allows firms the opportunity to submit work from previous election years that haven’t already been entered. All other categories included work from the 2014 political year.

With over 2,400 entries, this year’s Contest was the largest in AAPC history. “It’s exciting to see the growth of the industry reflected in the Pollie Awards,” said AAPC President Art Hackney. “We continue to refine categories, making the contest easier to enter – yet harder to win. This year’s winners represent the very best in business of politics.”

The AAPC announced this year’s winners at the 2015 Annual Pollie Awards & Conference on March 19 in New Orleans, LA. The Pollie Awards (Pollies) are bipartisan honors awarded annually by the AAPC to members of the political advertising and communications industry who have demonstrated superior work on behalf of their candidates and causes. A blind jury of their peers selects AAPC award winners. Esquire magazine has dubbed the Pollies as “…the Oscars of political advertising.”

Media One President John Fiksdal was in New Orleans to accept the awards on the firm’s behalf. He says, "I'm so proud of the Media One Team, and thrilled at the opportunity to work with clients who challenge and enable us to do our best work. Prevailing in an election for those who trust us to represent them is our greatest reward, but the recognition of our peers is truly gratifying."

The annual Pollie Awards & Conference brings the leading political professionals in the world together to network and hear from top technology innovators, pollsters, pundits and service providers as the 2015 political cycle begins to heat up.
